About the job Oracle Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of working on database implementation,migration, and maintenance support projects in Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environments for a minimum of eight (8) years. Also need to assist in configuring online data synchronization using Red Hat Debezium and a workshop will be provided for those with no prior experience, though it is not mandatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems to meet project and business requirements.
  • Perform database migration projects, including upgrades and platform transitions.
  • Ensure database performance, reliability, and scalability through optimization and tuning.
  • Monitor database health, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Configure and maintain database security, including user roles, privileges, and encryption.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support application performance and troubleshooting.
  • Provide documentation, reports, and regular maintenance support for Oracle databases.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields., at least 8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle database projects in GCC environments.
  • Bachelors degree in business, Management of Information Systems, Information/ Infocom Technology, or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies ,Experience with AWS RDS for Oracle and Oracle RAC , Oracle TDE implementation.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) in Database Administration, Proficient in Oracle database patching, upgrades, and migration,
  • Experience in database migration from on-premise to AWS has added advantage, writing Linux shell script to perform data validation on migrated data.
  • Experience in managing large-scale, mission-critical database systems, Familiarity with database automation tools and monitoring solutions.
