About the job Security Consultant
We are looking for passionate and experienced security professionals to work with our strategic customers to help guide their vision, address risks and implement their security and compliance strategies on Google Cloud. The role will provide thought leadership and operate with a high degree of autonomy and visibility as part of our Security specialist team.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering expert guidance on cloud security and compliance to help customers navigate complex challenges.
- Collaborate with customers to architect and implement cloud security solutions that meet their unique requirements, leveraging deep dive discussions, strategic recommendations, and hands-on implementation within the Google Cloud environment.
- Develop and disseminate best practices through recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations for various business and technical audiences.
- Maintain effective communication via video conferencing for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite activities to ensure alignment and progress.
- Coordinate with senior stakeholders within customer organizations to achieve consensus and drive successful security outcomes on the Google Cloud platform.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest security trends and developments across multiple industry sectors.
- Travel regionally up to 30% for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery, with a preference for utilizing video conferencing where possible.
- Provide strategic insight and hands-on support for customers security and compliance initiatives on Google Cloud, ensuring they align with best practices and customer objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages.
- Proven experience managing customer projects to successful completion, including collaboration with engineering teams, sales, and partners.
- Demonstrated expertise in architecting, developing, or maintaining secure cloud solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and presentation materials.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in security architecture and/or security engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of security principles and extensive practical experience in cloud security in customer-facing roles.
- Expertise in identifying and mitigating security threats in areas such as network protocols, secure network design, operating system hardening, web application security, security assessments, penetration testing, authentication and access control, applied cryptography, security protocols, security monitoring, intrusion detection, incident response, forensics, and the development of security tools and automation. Practical experience in securing Kubernetes and containerized workloads is highly desirable.
