Job Overview

Our client is a leading Renewables platform with over 2GW project built across Renewable Investments in APAC. They are currently looking for an experienced Permitting manager to join their Taipei Office that will take their projects to COD.

Responsibilities

  1. Permitting Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive permitting strategy aligned with the solar project development timeline and requirements. This includes identifying permitting milestones, navigating regulatory frameworks, and resolving permitting challenges.
    
  2. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of local, state, and federal regulations related to solar energy projects, and ensure full compliance with all permitting requirements. Proactively address any potential regulatory obstacles and streamline the permitting process.
    
  3.  Permit Acquisition: Lead the acquisition of all necessary permits, licenses, and approvals from regulatory agencies, utility companies, environmental bodies, and other relevant stakeholders. This involves coordinating with internal teams and external consultants to compile and submit accurate and timely permit applications.

  4. Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for communication with regulatory agencies, local authorities, community stakeholders, and landowners to facilitate smooth interactions and address any concerns related to permitting processes.

  5. Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with permitting and devise risk mitigation strategies to proactively address regulatory challenges and ensure the timely completion of solar projects.

  6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain clear and organized records of all permitting activities, approvals, and correspondence. Generate regular reports to track permitting progress and highlight any potential impediments.

  7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, legal advisors, and environmental specialists to incorporate permitting requirements into the overall project plan and ensure the integration of environmental and regulatory considerations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in environmental science, engineering, business administration, or relevant field. Advanced degree or certifications in project management and/or regulatory affairs are advantageous.
  • Proven experience in permitting management for solar energy projects or related renewable energy initiatives, with a comprehensive understanding of regulatory and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting processes, environmental impact assessments, zoning regulations, and land use planning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and build productive relationships.
