Associate Merchant - Office Based

Objective:

The Associate Buyer will support the Merchant in the execution of driving sales and profit for the company. This person will utilize IMM for the Merchant organization and work cross-functionally with other internal departments e.g. marketing, logistics, finance etc., to help drive sales and profit for the company. This person must be open-minded, observant and have the skillset not only to identify gaps, but to also help the merchant with solutions to effectively drive execution

Responsibilities:


• This position will support the merchant with day-to-day operations including but not limited to:- reviewing backorders, ABS inquiries, promotional and pricing setup, vendor management, marketing submissions, and PO placement.
• Support Merchant in executing the monthly and annual forecast/budgeting process.
• Support knowledge and content development with the goal to be the distinctive, authoritative destination for category-relevant knowledge serving customers and associates.
• Help merchant create industry-leading category-relevant assortment and brands, inventory profile, and informative and engaging product data.
• Help merchant to plan profitable product assortments and promotions to set the categories on a course for sustainable future growth
• Support the inventory management team in maintaining healthy inventory and moving through non-productive inventory.
• Influence and support the merchant negotiate and work with vendors.
• Collaborate with sales organization to enable existing account growth and accelerate new business with the merchant.
• Identifies business opportunities and develops formal plans for implementation with merchant.
• Maintains methods and metrics for measuring and monitoring Marketing, Brand, and Sales data.
• Conducting business analysis to ensure the health of the business and to provide visibility to the Merchant & DMM.
  

Skills & Experience:


• Solid knowledge of core merchandising systems and processes is a plus.
• Experience working with cross functional teams (i.e. Marketing, Operations etc)
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
