About the job Data Protection Analyst
We are seeking an experienced Data Protection Analyst to join our clients Tech team, in a fast-growing global environment focused on reinsurance services. You will responsible for monitoring data flows, enforcing data protection policies, and supporting investigations related to data privacy.
Role Summary:
As a Data Protection Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring data movement, implementing data protection policies, and supporting privacy-related investigations. You will track personal data usage across collaboration platforms, validate data classification practices, and coordinate with compliance teams to address potential risks and discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Protection Monitoring: Monitor data exports via proxy, Defender alerts, USB, email, and O365 downloads by external users. Review reports and define action plans in collaboration with the Group Compliance team.
- Data Protection Policy Implementation: Enforce data protection policies across systems, including site category blocking and O365 Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rule configuration.
- O365 Data Discovery: Support eDiscovery investigations and reporting in response to legal, HR, or compliance requests.
- O365 Privacy Monitoring: Track and report on personal data usage across O365 collaboration tools.
- Data & Privacy Assessment: Review and validate our clients data confidentiality classification using sensitivity labeling and data classification tools. Identify and report discrepancies.
Key Duties:
- Monitor and analyze data movement across systems and platforms.
- Implement and maintain data protection policies and DLP rules.
- Support eDiscovery and privacy investigations.
- Track personal data usage and ensure compliance with privacy standards.
- Validate data classification and report inconsistencies.
Required experience & competencies
Hard skills
- Strong knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Experience with DLP tools and O365 security and compliance features.
- Familiarity with eDiscovery processes and privacy monitoring tools.
- Understanding of data classification and sensitivity labeling.
- Ability to analyze data movement and identify potential risks.
Soft skills
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams including Legal, HR, and Compliance.
Required Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Security, Data Privacy, Computer Science, or a related field.
