We are on behalf of our client looking for a Commissioning System Responsible (Piping & Mechanical) for a project in Verdal, Norway.


Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Ensure that all parts of the system, part-system, or area are properly marked with warning signs, commissioning tape, and tags before livening up the system.
  • Ensure to isolate and secure the system or area before granting permission for entry or intervention.
  • Assess PTWs (Permits to Work) with regards to access and safety precautions. Prepare for approval within the organization.
  • Secure live power systems in accordance with prevailing safety procedures.
  • Define compensating measures in case of shutdown of safety systems or when these are not in operation.
  • Evaluate PTWs with regards to extension and approval.
  • Provide discipline input to commissioning test procedures for other systems.
  • Participate in the development of governing documents, work instructions for the execution phase, and commissioning procedures for piping/mechanical systems.
  • Ensure commissioning of all systems and sub-systems is carried out in accordance with project procedures, commissioning procedures, and commissioning packages.
  • Participate in the development of multi-discipline plant start-up and performance test procedures.
  • Evaluate commissioning and operation spares.
  • Prepare commissioning scope in PCS (Project Control System).
  • Prepare commissioning work packages.
  • Guide and support commissioning activities in accordance with commissioning plans and procedures.
  • Status activities related to the use of PCS.
  • Provide progress reporting regarding own activities.
  • Manage change control (queries, documents).
  • Oversee system take-over activities.
  • Guide and support start-up and performance test activities in accordance with procedures.
  • Administer and supervise commissioning assistance and vendor personnel.

Qualifications and personal attributes:

  • Bachelor, Master or other relevant education / experience.
  • Good knowledge of the work processes within the discipline that is being carried out.
  • Minimum 5-year experience from EPC processes within New build / Renewables segments. 
  • Software Skills: MIPS | MS Office 365 | PCS (Pims, ProCoSys) | Autodesk Simulate
  • Available for work in Norway!
  • Good communicative skills in English and team player
  • Valid work permit in Norway (or being located within the EU)
