We are on behalf of our client looking for a Cyber Security Engineer for a project in Kristiansund, Norway.


Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Implement strategies, specifications, and reports for cyber security and network infrastructures in industrial automation and control systems
  • Ensure designs meet network infrastructure and cyber security requirements
  • Participate in meetings and technical workshops with suppliers and customers to review network architectures and cyber security compliance
  • Contribute to the design, adaptation, and modification of network infrastructures and interfaces, including configurations of network equipment
  • Provide input on work processes and workflows, implementing them into projects to achieve desired results
  • Review and comment on supplier topology drawings, functional specifications, and test procedures.
  • Establish project-specific IO ICT documents at various project phases, including philosophies and functional requirements
  • Establish and document monitoring requirements with clients at the equipment level
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing, reviewing configurations of network equipment such as switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Share lessons learned, train others, and update requirement specifications accordingly - and propose improvements in projects

Qualifications and personal attributes:

  • Bachelor or Master in computer science, information security/technology, cybernetics, or a similar relevant area
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a related field
  • Experience working effectively in multi-disciplinary matrix organizations, seeking answers, advice, and support as needed
  • Comprehensive understanding of IP-based communication, especially Layer 2/3/4 mechanisms
  • Strong knowledge of networks, products, and protocols, including industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP, Profinet, IEC 61850, and OPC UA
  • Experience with administration, implementation, and troubleshooting of VLANs, IPv4, switching/routing, firewall rulesets, NAT, and QoS
  • Knowledge of industrial topologies, ISA 99, and the Purdue Model
  • Familiarity with the IEC 62443 framework for Cyber Security in Industrial Automation and Control Systems
  • Knowledge of risk assessments for Cyber Security
  • Good understanding of IO ICT tasks
  • Available for work in Norway!
  • Experience with offshore Automation Systems
  • Good communicative skills in English and team player
  • Valid work permit in Norway (or being located within the EU)
