Job Summary:
As a Japanese Speaking Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our restaurants and ensuring the highest quality of food and service for our guests. You will work closely with the management team to develop menus, create new dishes, and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain menus that reflect the company's philosophy and standards of excellence in Japanese cuisine
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring consistent execution of recipes and quality of dishes
- Monitor food costs and inventory levels to maintain profitability and minimize waste
- Collaborate with management team to plan and execute special events and promotions
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Continuously research and experiment with new ingredients, techniques, and flavors to keep menus fresh and innovative
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and communication among kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following proper storage and labeling procedures
- Communicate effectively with non-Japanese speaking staff and guests to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume Japanese restaurant
- Fluent in Japanese and English, both written and verbal
- Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine, including traditional and modern techniques
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Creativity and passion for creating new and innovative dishes
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
