Job Responsibilities:
- Provides operational instructions to stewarding staff as directed by the Galley Supervisor.
- Supervises the operation of the dish machine and the performance of stewarding teams during the operational process, which includes cleaning and sanitizing to ensure all dishes are properly
- cleaned and sanitized at all times.
- Participates in scheduled deep cleaning in addition to everyday general cleaning and dish machine operations.
- Ensures that subordinate crewmembers adhere to Princess Cruises and USPHS cleaning and sanitizing methods and standards.
- Consistently prepares for daily galley rounds and provides appropriate instruction to teams as necessary.
- Reports findings and corrective actions taken to the Assistant Galley Supervisor / Galley Supervisor / Executive Chef.
- Consistently monitors equipment within supervised area for operational efficiency.
- Reports equipment defects to the Galley Supervisor / Executive Chef / Food Manager on a daily basis.
- Conducts inventory counts of operational equipment and chinaware.
- Always performs all duties in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, USPHS and Fleet Regulations, and other internal, external, and governmental regulations as directed.
- Always conducts galley cleaning in compliance with the agreed environmental objectives.
- Actively monitors water and chemical consumption at all times and promptly informs superiors of unusual trends.
- Performs all General Emergency Organization duties as directed.
- Demonstrates commitment to the Company's values, beliefs, goals, and initiatives.
- Acts as a Company representative and always portrays a positive image of Princess Cruises to all passengers, officers, and crew.
- Always maintains professional, effective, and motivated working relationships, taking into account differences in cultures, backgrounds, and individual personalities.
Qualifications:
- Must have thorough knowledge of USPH practices and procedures.
- Must attend vessel sanitation course and pass with at least 90%.
- Must have good oral and written command of the English language.
- Must be experienced in cruise ship industry galley operation.
- Must have working knowledge of scientific cleaning and sanitation procedures for the food service industry.
