About the job 1st Commis Pastry

Job Responsibilities:

  • Always carries out production in assigned area/station according to Company recipes and picture presentation as directed by the Executive Pastry /Bakery Chef, Chief Baker, and Chef de Partie Pastry.
  • Always adheres to the daily production schedule under the direction of the Executive Pastry/Baker Chef or his/her representative as required by the itinerary and various outlets.
  • Regularly seeks guidance from the Chief Baker /Chef de Partie-Bakery in executing production according to Company recipes.
  • Performs all assigned tasks in a cost-efficient manner while maintaining and adhering to the highest quality standards possible.
  • Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of the ingredient consumption required for daily production and always follows recipes to eliminate waste; regularly informs the Executive Pastry/Bakery Chef Chief Baker or Chef de Partie informed when fluctuations occur.
  • Always handles and utilizes all materials and goods with the utmost care and demonstrates a commitment to eliminating waste during production

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed basic instruction in Pastry/ Bakery arts
  • Must have at least 3 years of pastry experience with at least 1-year experience as 2nd Commis Pastry
  • Must have recent experience in high volume production
  • Must have a general understanding of U.S.P.H.S. regulations and principles
  • Command of the English language, both verbal and written
