Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the delivery of the Teen Program each voyage.
  • Ensures all programs and activities take place safely and securely for children and teens ages 3-17 years.
  • Always interacts positively with parents and teens.
  • Actively, consistently, and constantly supervises staff and program participants.
  • Maintains continual and conscientious presence in the Youth and Teen centers; always responds promptly to resolve passengers requests and concerns.
  • Always provides excellent service by demonstrating enthusiasm and genuine interest throughout activities.
  • Attends to any service issues immediately and escalates to Youth Activities Manager as appropriate.
  • Assists in creating fair and consistent staff schedules to ensure all activities and events are delivered efficiently.
  • Regularly coordinates with the Youth Activities Manager to plan and deliver events in public venues.
  • Always plans and organizes effective and age-appropriate activities as directed by the Youth Activities Manager.
  • Initiates and implements innovative ideas for new activities and programs (with Youth Activities Manager approval) while ensuring the safety and security of each participant.
  • Observes passengers' reactions to programmed Youth and Teen events while showing genuine interest at all times; adjusts programs accordingly.
  • Identifies top performers and mentors them for career advancement or promotion.
  • Assists productively in all trainings and orientations; conducts meetings with Teen staff as required by Youth Activities Manager.
  • Willingly helps Youth Activities Manager thoughtfully complete performance appraisals.
  • Always maintains clear, consistent, and effective communication with Youth Activities Manager.
  • Accurately and objectively prepares Teen portion of the end-of voyage report and timely submits it to the Youth Activities Manager.
  • Regularly helps reordering supplies to ensure optimal inventory levels at all times.
  • Ensures prompt and accurate Teen Program documentation and administration, including registration cards, sign-in sheets and forms, Passenger in Focus files, and incident reports.
  • Ensures compliance with Fleet Regulations, departmental policies and procedures, and other applicable internal, external, and governmental regulations.
  • Constantly monitors the condition of the Teen facilities and immediately communicates any necessary repairs to the Youth Activities Manager.
  • Immediately notifies Youth Activities Manager of all incidents and issues; ensures all incidents are properly documented.
  • Always maintains a safe and secure environment for all Teen Program participants.
  • Promptly performs General Emergency Organization duties as directed.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Companys values, beliefs, goals, and initiatives.
  • Acts as a Company representative and always portrays a positive image of Princess Cruises to all passengers, officers, and crew.
  • Always maintains professional, effective, and motivated working relationships across all functions, taking into account differences in cultures, backgrounds, and individual personalities.
  • Qualifications:
  • Degree in teaching/education, recreation, nursing, or psychology preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent highly preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience working with teenagers in a recreational or educational setting.
