About the job Hotel Assistant Bars
Standard Role Summary:
Work within the Food & Beverage Department providing an excellent customer service to both Guests and staff within outlets.
Primary Responsibility of the Role:
Provide a smooth and efficient pantry service to the bar areas. Load the glass washer safely and correctly, minimising
breakages and damage. Follow all working and cleaning routines and rotas and ensure the appearance and condition of all items including glasses, equipment and bottles meet the required standards.
When working within the staff bar area produce all beverages to the required company standards. Correctly enter billing
into the relevant system in a timely manner and maintain par stock levels, undertaking stock takes and filling out internal requisitions as and when required
Keep the outlet and pantry areas neat and tidy at all times. Set up and clear down the outlet prior to and after service periods as instructed. Assist with the receipt of beverages and stores ensuring they are put away promptly and safely. Use and maintain all bar equipment correctly, following standard operating procedures and report any repairs required promptly.
Carry out duties at outside catering events as and when required. Meet and greet the Guests.
Support the Hotel department by undertaking allocated duties as and when required (e.g. baggage handling, storing)
Experience / Qualifications
Customer service experience desirable
Level 2 Award in Food Safety or equivalent
Good command of written and spoken English
Certificates
Valid ENG1 medical certificate or equivalent for the duration of each voyage
Quality Standards
Follow the correct quality service standards relating to the bar services department
Customer Service
Respond calmly and quickly to requests from Guests or crew members
Deliver customer service within the agreed time scales and to the quality required, ensuring Guest satisfaction
Immediately respond to complaints and customer service issues, or report them to line manager, to ensure a speedy resolution
Behave in a polite and friendly manner with Guests and crew members at all times and in all areas of the ship
Revenue Generation
Proactively work to support and achieve set targets
Use specialist knowledge to help inform Guests about products and positively influence revenue generation
Food Hygiene
Follow the correct policies and procedures regarding food and bar hygiene at all times
Keep all food and bar preparation equipment and spaces clean and sanitized at all times in accordance with company policy
Cleaning
Use the correct chemicals and equipment for the relevant cleaning job
Follow all cleaning schedules and clean all areas to the agreed standards
Load dish and glass washing machines correctly minimising and breakages / damages
Stack and move cutlery, crockery and glasses correctly
Maintain and look after equipment, following the standard operating procedures
