About the job Linen Keeper
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures the efficient management of inventory linen, uniform, and associated items, including the electronic recording and controlling of items, in line with all inventory control policies and procedures
- Works with the Hotel Inventory Manager and Hotel Storekeeper to maintain adequate levels of linens and uniforms at all times.
- Always performs quality control of items received to ensure quality and product specifications are met at all times.
- Conducts physical stock counts of all linen and uniform inventory items held in storerooms and assigned by the Hotel Inventory Manager.
- Consistently monitors consumption trends and promptly reports any discrepancies or unusual patterns in consumption to the Hotel Inventory Manager and Hotel Storekeeper.
- Willingly participates in the loading and receiving of Hotel Stores as required.
- Ensures compliance with all inventory and product control policies and procedures and promptly notifies the Hotel Inventory Manager and Hotel Storekeeper of any discrepancies and deficiencies
- Consistently coordinates with the Hotel Inventory Manager and Hotel Storekeeper to reduce slow-moving inventory.
- Provides service to internal departments with the consistent issuance of uniform, linen, and associated products; always remain engaged through completion of service.
- Actively coordinate with the Laundry Master, and Tailor for uniform and linen requirements ensuring the PAR levels of in-service uniforms and linens are efficiently in operational PAR
- Complies with applicable policies and procedures, USPHS and Fleet Regulations, and other internal, external, and governmental regulations at all times.
- Respond to any audit queries and compliance and willingly participates in monthly Hotel Stores meetings. Respond to any operational requirements in a cruise industry environment
- Qualifications & Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of linens and uniform sizing and specs
- Basic understanding of linen and laundry operation preferably cruise lines
- One year prior experience in a Hotel Stores and Uniform environment
- Basic Microsoft office knowledge in Word and Excel
- Ability to organize and complete work per deadlines
- Commitment to continuously display and deliver genuine care to our passengers and staff and surprise and delight passengers throughout their cruise experience
- Command of the English language, both verbal and written
- Flexible in a working environment for loading and operational needs of a cruise industry
