Role Description:
As Field Technician, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide variety of technology solutions in various commercial environments. Technologies will include, low voltage/structured cabling, VoIP telephone systems, surveillance and access control systems, mass notification systems and a variety of IT solutions such as computers, servers, and networking. The selected candidate will spend approximately 90% of their time servicing local area businesses within an 80-mile radius of Frederick, MD and 10% of their time in the Frederick office supporting customers remotely; occasional overnight and after hours on call support will be required.

A minimum of one years experience with computer maintenance, Windows operating systems support, and computer network installations/troubleshooting is required for this position. Low voltage cabling, VOIP telephone systems and security system installation/troubleshooting experience is strongly desired but not required. Teltek will provide training, tools, laptops, cell phone and vehicle for this position. Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a basic working knowledge of the installation, troubleshooting of computers, operating systems and networking.
  • Ability to exhibit an above average level of customer service, exceptional verbal and written communication and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Minimum of a high school diploma required; Associate degree, completion of trade school, apprenticeships, technical certificates such as (Microsoft Network+ and A+, MCSE/MCP, CCNA, etc.) and/or some college strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates a Can-Do, positive attitude and team player and the willingness to take whatever initiative necessary to service customer needs efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, follow through and documentation skills.
  • Must be a motivated, hardworking and an independent self-starter with the ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred; proficiency in spoken and written English required.
  • Eligible to work in the US with a valid drivers license, clean driving record; ability to pass a background and drug screenings.
  • Some travel and after-hours/on call work will be required.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs independently.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 35 feet utilizing a lift and/or ladders.
