Functional overview

The Service Now Developer will provide administration, application development, maintenance, and technical support by using good practice web programming techniques to configure robust solutions to the client utilizing the ServiceNow platform.

Duties and responsibilities

    • Conducts requirement analysis for development of new features, components and enhancements to existing components
    • Conduct and participate in design discussions, design/code walkthrough meetings
    • Design, develop, review, test, deploy and support out of the box and custom solutions in the platform
    • Ensure compliance to architecture, requirement/design artifacts, development and release methodologies (CM/CI/CD)
    • Proven experience as a ServiceNow developer with at least 5 years software development experience and can demonstrate strong development skills in the areas of Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC), Portfolio and Project Management and IT service management (ITSM)
    • Obtain and analyze business requirements and document technical solutions
    • Proven experience of ServiceNow system administration
    • Ability to demonstrate experience with determining the best possible solution
    • Must be comfortable working independently with minimal oversight as well as comfortable working in a team setting swarming and peer programming
    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with proven experience of requirements gathering and translating requirements into technical deliveries.
    • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and be confident presenting ideas and designs to different stakeholder levels
    • Research new functionality and recommend solutions that deliver value to the organization
    • Candidates should demonstrate experience in the following areas:
      • o Leadership skills in technical initiatives
      • o Generating detailed documentation
      • o Communications that clearly articulate solutions and the ability to perform demonstrations

Minimum competencies

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related course
  • 5 years' experience supporting the implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development of the ServiceNow tool
  • ServiceNow Experience should include scripting in ServiceNow, tool configuration, design work, technical configuration, and deployment. Specifically, candidates shall possess the skill to develop on the ServiceNow platform including the creation and/or customization of the core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Service Catalog, Risk Management, Policy and Compliance Management, Audit Management, Demand, Project, Program, Portfolio and Resource Management.
  • Preferably with Java and Angular JS experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate skills in areas for the administration, development, documentation, and technical support of the ServiceNow platform
  • Excellent understanding of ITSM\ITIL processes, GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) and Project Portfolio Management.
