Functional overview
The Datacentre Engineer senior role is to design, install, administer, and optimize company servers farms and related components (SAN, Storage, Enclosures, Hyperconverged, virtualization, etc.) to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. Where applicable, the Datacentre Engineer will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data centre/server farm and the overall internal process in the landscape (DRP, Backup, Patch, update, authentication, etc.).
Duties and responsibilities
- The IT Datacentre Engineer senior will work closely with the NCI project & service delivery area on the DDC (Colombia and Philippines)
The services will be provided to worldwide Inchcape markets. - Will support, design, and apply the strategic infrastructure plan, according to the Enterprise strategy designed by the global IT architect.
- Must design and evaluate (architecture, cost, technology) for Cloud & on-premises environments.
- Active participation on the projects, designing the technical solution and oversee the deployment process to align the implementation with the architecture proposed.
- Will work in the datacentre operation including the Server administration (physical and logic admin), maintain the operation systems, the storage, the patching process, Back up process and manage the internal operation services as Active directory services, create and delete users, federation services and identity services..
Minimum competencies
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure high-paced environment and make sound decisions.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Minimum qualifications
- At least 6 years’ equivalent work experience in a senior technical analytical position responsible for managing server environments.
- Advanced knowledge of at least 3 of the following: NT, W2K, RedHat, Linux, Exchange, SQL, IIS, Proxy, Apache, Squid, SendMail, Site Server, ASP, or XML.
- Exceptional abilities at load balancing, clustering, and caching procedures and processes.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology.
- Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Full knowledge Windows AD, Azure AD and AADDS (Azure SaaS AD)
- Strong understanding Windows 10 based desktop configuration & base imaging (SysPrep knowledge etc)
- Intermediate Networking knowledge / IP address schema / Network Routing Table knowledge / Network Security
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 / OneDrive / SharePoint / Teams management
- Office 365 migration tools
- Knowledge about the ADConnect and multiple AD synchronization with Office 365.
- Strong understanding Federation environments
- Experiences in Cloud migration (Cloud to Cloud- Onprem to Cloud)
- Demonstrated experience in wVD environment administration– including FSLogix (Virtual Profile Management
- Expert Windows server, Linux and virtual environment (VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, Nutanix)
- Familiarity with TCP/IP and network protocols, and operating system configuration.
- Working technical knowledge of scripting code using Perl, CGI, C, shell, and […] scripting tools.
- General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS, as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue.
- Business process and reengineering experience, as well as an understanding of the relationship between processes and policies.
- Proven knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies.
