The Payroll Clerk is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. This role ensures all payroll transactions are completed efficiently, employee records are maintained, and discrepancies are resolved promptly. The Payroll Clerk plays a key role in safeguarding data accuracy and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on schedule.

  • Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll information, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and changes in benefits or deductions.
  • Verify timesheets, attendance records, overtime calculations, and leave credits.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and investigate inconsistencies or errors.
  • Prepare payroll summaries and assist in generating monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters such as pay discrepancies, tax deductions, and benefits.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure proper documentation and alignment of employee information.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee compensation and payroll data.
  • Assist with audits related to payroll and compliance.
  • Support continuous process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience in payroll processing or clerical accounting roles is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
  • Basic understanding of labor laws, government contributions, and tax regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
