About the job XTN-DE13629 | GLASS LEWIS: RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, APAC (PROJECT-BASED)
The APAC Research Team analyzes the corporate governance structure and remuneration arrangements of public companies listed in the region.
This analysis is used to advise institutional shareholders on how they should vote their shares at portfolio company shareholder meetings (AGMs and EGMs).
Our analysis and recommendations are closely followed by our institutional investor clients, the companies which our research covers and international news organizations.
The main responsibilities of a RESEARCH ASSOCIATE include:
- Conduct corporate governance research on publicly-listed companies in the Asia-Pacific markets to which you are assigned.
- Comb through publicly disclosed information (e.g. stock exchange announcements including annual reports and notices of meeting, company press releases, news articles, etc.) to collect corporate governance-related data on each company to which you have been assigned.
- Analyse each company's governance practices within a policy-based framework of market best practices, with the majority of time being spent on board structures and executive remuneration packages.
- Write draft recommendations to institutional investors on how they should vote at their portfolio companies' shareholder meetings.
- Successful candidates will be assigned to company coverage in multiple markets, including: Japan, Australia, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, China, South Korea and more.
- Where assigned to the Chinese, Japanese, or Korean markets (and others), the role will include the translation and interpretation of non-English filings using translation software and AI tools.
- Help in collecting data and assisting with other projects on an ad hoc basis.
