The Credit & Collection Officer is responsible for leading and managing a team of Credit and Collection Specialists, overseeing the company’s accounts receivable. This includes monitoring customer payment behavior, resolving overdue accounts, and implementing strategies to ensure efficient and consistent debt collection. The Officer will provide strong leadership, offer support to management, and guide the team in achieving organizational objectives.

Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage a team of Credit and Collection Specialists to ensure adherence to best practices, performance targets, and exceptional customer service standards.
- Monitor team performance metrics, offering constructive feedback and coaching to drive continuous improvement.
- Actively contribute to policy development, process optimization, and communication of workflow improvements to management.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure team compliance with all departmental policies.
- Actively participate in team and organizational meetings, offering insights and updates on performance and collection efforts.
Collection Activities & Payment Tracking:
- Maintain detailed records of all collection efforts, agreements, and account status updates.
- Identify account delinquencies and collaborate with the team to resolve issues impacting payment timeliness.
- Ensure the timely preparation and reconciliation of AR Aging reports, working closely with the team to ensure accuracy.
- Appropriately escalate issues to management when necessary, ensuring prompt resolution of critical matters.
Communication & Follow-Ups:
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve account disputes and facilitate payments.
- Oversee client inquiries, ensuring clear and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, prevent escalations, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Manage the mailing of customer correspondence, promoting timely payment of delinquent accounts.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring accurate payment records and prompt issuance of official receipts.
- Lead by example in practicing courteous, professional assertiveness in all customer interactions.
- Support team members in resolving complex customer issues, offering guidance and advice as needed.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare weekly reports on flagged customers and AR consolidation, ensuring alignment with collection goals.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly or weekly collection reports for the KMC group of companies and monitor bank remittances in collaboration with the team.
- Ensure accuracy in monthly Sales Commission Reports, AR Aging Clean-up, Client Deposits, and Other Payables updates.
Ad-hoc/Projects:
- Assist with due diligence and other accounting tasks as required.
- Support additional tasks and projects as needed to assist the Accounting Department and further team objectives.
- Lead initiatives to automate processes and enhance efficiency in daily tasks.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in credit and collections, including at least 2 years of team management (preferably in a global company).
- Proven ability to manage complex credit and collection challenges while leading a team of Credit & Collection Specialists effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with financial systems and ERP software.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NetSuite or similar financial software is a plus.
- Knowledge of Process Automation tools
