The main responsibilities of a SENIOR DBA ENGINEER include:

  • Member of the DBA team tasked to deliver and maintain database management systems
  • Member of the DBA team focused on improving performance and reliability
  • Maintain database management systems in a multi-cloud and multi-DC environment
  • Manage and maintain database deployment processes.
  • Enhance tools and processes that will drive efficiency

To apply for the role, you must have the following:

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of building and maintaining highly available database management systems
  • 4+ years of experience with other databases ( Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc…)
  • 4+ years of experience managing SQL Server, SQL Always-On, mirroring, clustering, and data replication.
  • 3+ years of experience with SSIS packages, SSDT, scripting (e.g. Powershell, Azure CLI, Bash, etc..), and automating processes
  • In-depth understanding of network concepts
  • In-depth understanding of security practices
  • Experience working for a high-growth SaaS company
  • Agile, lean, or similar development methodologies/experience

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Ability to use a wide variety of tools to manage database systems
  • Experience with systems and IT operations
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental DB testing and deployment
  • Strong grasp of automation tools
  • Data management skills
  • A strong focus on business outcomes
  • Comfort with collaboration, open communication, and reaching across functional borders
  • Coding or scripting to support systems
  • Process re-engineering
  • Communicating and collaborating with others
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a small team with minimal supervision
