The Senior Contracts Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the contract processes for both client-facing and vendor interactions within the company's Presort Services and Procurement Legal teams. This strategic position involves direct reporting to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and entails close collaboration with Contracts Directors and attorneys within GLACO.
This position offers the unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law and business, providing exposure to both commercial and government contract negotiations. It also offers direct interaction with senior management and key decision-makers, providing a platform to influence business strategies and outcomes significantly.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including but not limited to master service agreements, statements of work, amendments, and vendor agreements such as purchase, lease, software, and transportation services.
- Manage client facing agreements with both commercial and government entities, including certifications and responses to invitations to bid.
- Handle data processing addendums and perform necessary database entries related to agreements.
- Collaborate with external clients and vendors to ensure contracts are favorable and compliant.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as account managers, procurement, product managers, and business leaders to obtain necessary inputs and approvals.
- Provide expert guidance on the interpretation and implementation of complex contract clauses and legal principles.
- Bachelor’s degree and a law degree (preferably a U.S. law degree or equivalent).
- Minimum 15-20 years’ experience in managing and negotiating contracts, with a background in a law firm (preferably U.S. law firm experience).
- Strong understanding of legal principles and excellent negotiation and contract drafting skills.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, analytical, and time management skills.
- Proficient in articulating contract risks to senior management and standing ground on critical issues under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Government contract experience, including familiarity with terms and conditions in government contracts and RFPs, and understanding of general procurement policies.
- Expertise in Microsoft Word for redlining documents, along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and SharePoint.
