We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll & Finance team. This team ensures accurate, compliant payroll and commissions, manages benefits and taxes across multiple states, and supports audits, reporting, and cross-functional projects.

  • Process bi-weekly salary and commission payroll in Rippling for loan officers (W-2 and 1099) and support staff
  • Calculate and verify loan officer splits, comp plans, tiered bonuses, and overrides based on Arive loan funding reports
  • Ensure payroll accuracy by reconciling against closed loan data in Arive
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and reconciliations for leadership and audit purposes
  • Ensure correct application of benefits, garnishments, deductions, and tax withholdings
  • Register the company in new states for payroll tax and unemployment purposes as needed
  • Coordinate 401(k) contributions, loan repayments, and benefits deductions with external providers
  • Support and resolve payroll tax issues in coordination with accounting partners
  • Assist in audits, reporting, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Partner with People on compensation adjustments, bonuses, and payroll compliance
  • Support other People Ops or Finance-related projects as assigned
  • 3+ years of payroll, commissions, or finance operations experience
  • 2+ years of experience in the mortgage industry (preferably broker-side)
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and general ledger reconciliation experience
  • High attention to detail and integrity when handling sensitive data
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with mortgage loan officer compensation structures
  • Understanding of LO licensing, compensation disclosure rules, and CD funding practices
  • Hands-on experience with Rippling (or similar payroll platforms); Arive LOS proficiency preferred
