We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, generating reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a commitment to precision in financial processes.

Financial Record Maintenance:

  • Record and reconcile financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records for audit and reporting purposes.

Financial Statements Preparation:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, or discrepancies and report findings to management.

Reporting:

  • Generate regular and ad-hoc financial reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support decision-making.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with the finance team to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Support accounts payable/receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and ensure accurate financial reporting 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related financial role.
  • Experience with financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliation processes.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders. o Knowledge of tax regulations and audit processes is a plus.
