UM Partners, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage and process employee payroll accurately and on time. The role involves handling all payroll-related activities, ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements. - Process end-to-end payroll for employees (weekly, biweekly, or monthly)
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and taxes
- Maintain and update employee payroll records in the payroll system
- Verify timesheets and attendance data before payroll processing
- Prepare and file payroll reports, including tax filings and statutory contributions
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies
- Handle employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Coordinate with HR and Finance teams for payroll-related updates and reconciliations
- Maintain confidentiality of employee data and payroll information
- Support audits by providing payroll documentation and reports
- Process final pay (last pay) and ensure proper computation of benefits when employees exit
- Knowledge of basic to intermediate accounting principles and standards (GAAP/IFRS)
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, particularly NetSuite
- Familiarity with internal controls and audit procedures
- Understanding of tax laws, statutory deductions, and labor regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to manage multiple routine tasks efficiently
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow structured processes
- Willingness to learn and improve processes
- Team player with a collaborative mindset
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Deadline-oriented
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or related field
- CPA license – desirable but not required
- 3-5 years in the field of Payroll or related work scope
- MS Office Programs proficient especially Excel
- Experience in US healthcare – preferred
