The Finished Artist works closely with BMF’s Retail Production, Creative and Project Management teams to produce artwork to a high standard that reflects our established reputation for work of extremely high quality.

OPERATIONAL

• Working closely with internal stakeholders to develop and craft retail catalogues and support collateral across a variety of print and digital channels.
• Manage all work in line with processes in place to enable high-volume production across multiple workstreams.
• Attention to detail is absolutely paramount, as is the ability to manage workload to achieve deadlines.
• Liaise with Project and Production Managers when required to ensure that artwork specs match up with printer/publisher expectations.
• Communicate and collaborate with Creative teams to produce the best result from their ideas.
• Become a brand expert, familiar with all brand guidelines and able to flag any job that is not on brand, or has unclear print specs or artwork brief.

CULTURAL

• Proactively resolve any queries on a job to minimise time delays, unnecessary artwork amendments, or studio backlog.
• Strong communication across multiple teams to ensure clarity of priorities and outputs required.
• Take ownership of your work and pride in the accuracy and quality of what you deliver.
FINANCIAL
• Accurately assess and estimate how many artwork hours are needed when requested.
• Maintain timesheets accurately daily.
• Engage with opportunities to upskill, cross-skill, and learn from your colleagues and the wider team.

• Full Creative Cloud knowledge: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Bridge. Working knowledge of
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Quickcut as well as Google Docs, are also preferable.
• Knowledge of Adobe Suite
• Experience with Figma and other digital design tools, and enthusiasm for continual learning as technology evolves.
• Able to ensure that finished artwork is technically proficient and prepared correctly for dispatch or upload, in line with the brief and reference materials supplied.
• Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount, with much of the work focused on price and product specification.
• Ability to adapt ways of working to suit the speed and quality requirements of the brief.
• Excellent layout and typographical skills.
• Good creative and graphic design skills.
• Experience working with a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and automated workflows is desirable.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Pre-Press processes.
• Experience in Colour Management.
• The ability to produce HTML banners and simple animations is a distinct advantage.

• Absolute attention to detail, quality, and timely execution of tasks is paramount.
• Ability to work at a pace in a busy Agency environment.
• To make quick and confident decisions about jobs and be proactive about resolving queries.
• Ability to work within set processes and timelines to ensure high-turnover, high-frequency briefs are executed to the highest possible standard, whilst allowing enough time to be as creatively led and well-crafted as possible.
• Relevant interests: illustration, photography, fine art, or related media have proven advantageous in the past.
