The Dispatcher position provides oversight and implementation of the day-to-day operations of the Logistics Department. Includes organization of processes to assist in efficient workflows and utilization of assets, employees, and resources. Operates as a critical link between customer (both internal and external), driver group and management. Evaluates needs with regards to sourcing, allocation and product control. Understands the business implications of the decision-making process and provides solutions to ensure high quality service.

Inventory and Delivery Management

  • Monitor fuel inventory levels at both company-operated and dealer-operated sites to ensure adequate supply.
  • Schedule fuel deliveries and maintain required inventory levels across all locations.
  • Track historical fuel costs across various suppliers, regions, and product types.
  • Coordinate equipment availability and maximize fleet utilization

Order Processing and Carrier Coordination

  • Create and process orders for third-party carriers as required.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Collaborate with the dispatch team to deliver consistent and reliable results.
  • Ensure accuracy in all transactions to support downstream operational efficiency.

Problem-Solving and Process Improvement

  • Proactively identify potential issues and implement prompt solutions.
  • Analyze root causes of problems and address issues at their source.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate complexity.
  • Evaluate and resolve data integrity issues to maintain accurate records.
  • Recognize and act on inconsistencies in data or results, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Identify driver-related issues and develop appropriate action plans.
  • Provide input on processes, procedures, and new approaches to
  • enhance operational efficiency.

Technical Knowledge and Application

  • Apply principles, concepts, theories, technologies, and standards of logistics in daily operations.
  • Develop and apply specialized knowledge within the logistics function.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Analytical skills with demonstrated proficiency in continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Skill Set

  • Experience with industry-specific software, including PDI, Telepoint, Motive, and DTN.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
