Services include concept studies, technology evaluation, due diligence, expert panel reviews, risk management, financial modeling, FID packages, commercial agreements, and more. This ensures our clients are supported in making the right decisions to overcome challenges, manage risks and leverage opportunities. OgeeDev is powered by iniem, an integrated energy group providing end-to-end solution.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and constructible electrical designs across natural gas facilities—from well sites to processing plants—while exercising independent professional judgment, technical leadership, and cross-disciplinary coordination. This role operates across FEED and Detailed Engineering phases and provides technical guidance, quality oversight, and constructive influence within complex project and team environments.
This role will initially be based in the Philippines for the first three (3) months. Following this period, and subject to satisfactory performance, business needs, and immigration approvals, the company may offer relocation to Canada with full work visa sponsorship and relocation support for the employee and eligible family members. Upon relocation, the successful candidate will be expected to obtain their Canadian Professional Engineer designation within the first year, with company support.
- Develop electrical designs for natural gas facilities (well sites, compressor stations, processing plants) across FEED and Detailed Engineering.
- Prepare and review core electrical deliverables, including single-line diagrams, MCC layouts and schematics, cable schedules and routing, plot plans, building electrical layouts, lighting, and heat tracing.
- Specify electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and ASDs/VFDs.
- Perform hazardous area classification and fugitive emissions studies in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Support construction, commissioning, energization, and as-built documentation.
- Perform power system studies using ETAP and SKM, including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
- Conduct technical reviews and drawing checks to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Identify technical risks early and recommend practical mitigation measures.
- Participate in HAZOP and SIL studies, providing electrical discipline input.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls, Civil, Procurement, Construction, and Project Management to deliver integrated designs.
- Support development of control system drawings (PLC/DCS panels, control and wiring schematics).
- Interface with vendors and suppliers through technical bid evaluations, vendor data reviews, and FAT/SAT activities.
- Collaborate with Procurement on vendor evaluations and purchasing decisions.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and reporting to align engineering deliverables with procurement and construction milestones.
- Contribute to front-end project development, including scope definition, budgets, Project Execution Plans, and Design Basis Memorandums.
- Communicate the cost, schedule, and risk implications of engineering decisions to project stakeholders.
- Represent the electrical discipline professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Apply electrical, instrumentation, and controls standards to ensure consistency across projects and clients.
- Support department leadership in developing procedures, improving design quality, and contributing to internal training initiatives.
- Promote disciplined documentation, traceability, and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
- Engage directly with clients to ensure deliverables meet technical and quality expectations.
- Address technical issues in coordination with Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mentor junior engineers and uphold high standards of safety, quality, and accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Applied Sciences from a recognized university or technical institution.
- Solid working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CSA, IEC, NEC, API, IEEE).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
- Experience with relevant engineering analysis and design software (e.g., ETAP, SKM Power Tools, AutoCAD or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- 7-10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, preferably in EPCM/EPC environments supporting industrial, energy, natural gas, or processing facilities.
- Demonstrated experience across FEED and Detailed Engineering phases.
- Strong experience with plant electrical systems, including LV/MV distribution, MCCs, grounding, hazardous area classification, and power system studies.
- Deep expertise in at least one specialty area, such as:
- Electrical studies and protection systems (ETAP, SKM)
- Substations and utility interfaces
- Construction, commissioning, and energization support
- Experience supporting front-end project planning, including scope definition, budgets, and execution strategies, is an asset.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to apply engineering judgment, with awareness of how technical decisions impact cost, schedule, constructability, and operational risk.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent projects in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment.
- Ability to maintain objectivity and leadership responsibility without being negatively influenced by internal pressure, peer dynamics, or unproductive narratives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
