The Project Quality Engineer (PQE) supports the delivery of high-quality construction and office fit-out projects by assisting in quality control activities. The role focuses on monitoring workmanship, verifying compliance with project specifications and standards, and maintaining accurate quality documentation. The PQE works closely with Project Managers, site teams, and contractors to help ensure that fit-out works align with KMC Projects & Design Department guidelines.

Quality Control Activities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to check compliance with approved plans, specifications, and workmanship standards.

  • Support project teams in maintaining quality compliance throughout construction and fit-out phases.

  • Participate in internal quality reviews and post-project assessments to help identify improvement areas.

  • Monitor materials, finishes, and installations to ensure they meet project and quality requirements.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers to address minor quality issues and follow through on corrective actions.

  • Assist and witness in third-party testing and inspection coordination as required.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain and update QA/QC records such as inspection reports, punchlists, non-conformance reports, and test results.

  • Support the preparation of quality documents for project handover and client turnover.

  • Ensure quality documentation is properly filed and accessible for internal reference.

Coordination and Communication

  • Communicate quality-related observations to Project Managers and site teams in a timely manner.

  • Assist in punchlisting activities and monitor closure of identified issues.

  • Participate in coordination meetings related to quality, inspections, and site progress.

Reporting and Monitoring

  • Help track basic quality metrics and inspection status for assigned projects.

  • Prepare simple quality updates or reports for internal team use.

  • Support the implementation of inspection and testing schedules on-site.

Must-Have

  • Licensed Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineer

  • At least 2 years of experience in construction, fit-out, or quality-related roles

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical specifications

  • Strong attention to detail and site awareness

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Familiarity with office fit-out works (Architectural, MEPFS, FDAS)

  • Experience in punchlisting and site inspections

  • Basic knowledge of construction codes and standards

  • Willingness to visit project sites as needed
