The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting timely and reliable financial reporting. The role involves preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and assisting in budgeting and audit activities to support sound financial decision-making.

I - Daily Accounting Operations

  • Maintain and organize accounting records, including journals, ledgers, registers, and individual accounts.
  • Record and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of entries.
  • Review and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, and expense vouchers.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain updated accounting files, spreadsheets, databases, and accounting system records.
  • Manage invoice processing and ensure contract and financial document filing systems are properly maintained.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Support internal audits and ensure proper documentation is readily available.

II - Financial Reporting & Management Support

  • Prepare periodic financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and management reports.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret financial data to support business decisions.
  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Present financial information and analysis to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide insights on financial performance to support strategic decision-making and cost management initiatives.

III - Government / BIR and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all company, local, and government accounting and financial regulations.
  • Prepare and assist in the submission of tax returns and statutory requirements (e.g., BIR filings).
  • Stay updated on relevant tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory changes.
  • Support external audits and coordinate requirements with regulatory bodies when needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely computation and filing of taxes and government-mandated reports.
  • With a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position, preferably within startups, SMEs, or large organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Proven mid-level experience in accounting or finance roles is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational ability.
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong background and experience in government regulatory reporting requirements and statutory submissions is highly preferre
