Responsibilities

• Lead development of a strong safety culture
• Analyze indicators of the Companys health and safety performance
• Conduct audits of processes and facilities to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations
• Advise management on performance improvement opportunities
• Assist in developing necessary plans, policies, or procedures for performance improvements
• Conduct risk management through hazard evaluations and risk assessments
• Lead incident investigations to determine risk levels and root causes
• Serve as the point of contact for MSHA and manage mine inspector visits
• Communicate health and safety information effectively to employees and stakeholders
• Perform other reasonable duties as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the health and safety field, specific to underground mining preferred
• Experience in leading safety culture development
• Experience in training techniques for hazard recognition and control
• Mine rescue experience
• MSHA Blue Card IU/IS/MM unlimited certification preferred

Education Requirements

• Relevant degrees or certifications in health and safety or related fields preferred
