Responsibilities
- Lead development of a strong safety culture
- Analyze indicators of the Companys health and safety performance
- Conduct audits of processes and facilities to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations
- Advise management on performance improvement opportunities
- Assist in developing necessary plans, policies, or procedures for performance improvements
- Conduct risk management through hazard evaluations and risk assessments
- Lead incident investigations to determine risk levels and root causes
- Serve as the point of contact for MSHA and manage mine inspector visits
- Communicate health and safety information effectively to employees and stakeholders
- Perform other reasonable duties as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the health and safety field, specific to underground mining preferred
- Experience in leading safety culture development
- Experience in training techniques for hazard recognition and control
- Mine rescue experience
- MSHA Blue Card IU/IS/MM unlimited certification preferred
Education Requirements
- Relevant degrees or certifications in health and safety or related fields preferred
Education Requirements Credential Category
- Certification in health and safety management or related field preferred
