Responsibilities

  • Utilize station offset methods to set points
  • Estimate man-hours required for project completion
  • Process engineering calculations using software with minimal supervision
  • Produce site plans and utility layouts with guidance from designers
  • Import survey data into Civil 3D
  • Generate boundary and topographical surveys
  • Create stake-out coordinates for field crew

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional full-time CAD experience in a similar industry
  • Understanding of CAD standards and practices
  • Strong background in civil engineering or surveying drafting
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with designers and engineers

Education Requirements

  • High school graduate required
  • Associates degree in a related field preferred

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Civil Engineering/Surveying or related field

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in CAD and civil engineering
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly desirable
  • At least 40 hours of additional field experience preferred

6. Survey CAD Technician with proficient Civil 3D skills that include:

a. Creating, modifying and fixing DTMs/Surfaces.

b. Knowledge of how to create, modify and use Point Groups.

c. Creating and importing data into a Survey Database.

d. Creating break lines from Survey Figures and modifying Survey Figures.

e. Interpreting and Mapping existing utilities accurately from a variety of record types including scans, JPGs, PDFs and GIS data.
