Responsibilities
- Focus on workplace safety and compliance with procedures and MSHA regulations
- Develop, implement, and improve safety policies, procedures, and programs as needed
- Provide safety training and education
- Conduct risk assessments
- Inspect work environments underground and on the surface
- Investigate accidents and accompany MSHA on inspections
- Evaluate and recommend control measures to minimize risk
- Schedule required annual physicals and hearing tests
- Assist with weekly and monthly H&S reporting
- Maintain accurate and organized records of training, inspections, and investigations
- Promote a positive safety culture across all departments
Qualifications
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized
- Experience in workplace safety and compliance with MSHA regulations is preferred
- MSHA Trainer Certification preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Relevant certifications in health and safety preferred
Education Requirements Credential Category
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is a plus
Experience Requirements
- Industry experience preferred
- Experience in safety compliance and training in a mining or industrial environment is beneficial
