The Quality Manager position focuses on developing, implementing, and managing quality control systems to ensure continuous production of applications in line with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. This role supervises a team of quality engineers, quality control inspectors, and the sorting department. The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization and Quality Management System comply with customer, internal, IATF 16949, and regulatory/legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs to develop effective quality control processes
  • Review specifications for products and processes, and assist suppliers in compliance
  • Engage in inspection and testing activities to ensure product integrity
  • Analyze statistical data to establish quality and reliability standards
  • Document and maintain quality control standards and objectives
  • Coordinate with production procedures to maximize reliability and minimize costs
  • Apply total quality management tools to analytical processes
  • Design and implement quality control training programs
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action processes
  • Interact with vendors to ensure quality of purchased parts
  • Schedule production and manage inventory control
  • Sign off on check sheets and track daily quality issues

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 10 years of progressive experience in the fastener industry
  • Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience or leadership development training
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 standards (preferred)
  • Experience with production control and quality management systems
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work efficiently

Education Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Technical degree or certification in Quality Management or a related field is preferred

Experience Requirements

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in automotive, fastener, or metal manufacturing
  • 4+ years of leadership experience with auditing experience preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing quality control processes
