Responsibilities

  • Examine equipment, processes, operations, and procedures to identify improvement opportunities
  • Implement changes and modify operational standards
  • Evaluate vendor proposals for new equipment purchases
  • Select and implement suitable manufacturing processes
  • Identify and optimize current manufacturing processes using continuous improvement strategies
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance to ensure equipment is well-maintained
  • Conduct capability studies and time studies
  • Develop processes, including Visual Work Instructions
  • Provide production support and process troubleshooting
  • Reduce costs related to scrap, rework, and cycle time
  • Specify tools, jigs, and fixtures
  • Coordinate projects and address daily troubleshooting challenges
  • Participate in Kaizen events

Qualifications

  • BS in Material Science, Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or combined related experience required
  • 2-4 years of engineering project experience in metal manufacturing
  • Must be capable of leading projects in a fast-paced continuous improvement culture
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Must manage multiple tasks and aggressive deadlines

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Material Science, Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering required
