The Die Repair Technician for 2nd Shift will be responsible for the repair, rebuilding, and maintenance of casting and trim dies while ensuring adherence to original specifications. This role will involve operating all related machines and equipment.

Skills

  • Ability to draw polish or grind die cavity surfaces using required tools or equipment.
  • Proficient in building and replacing segments, cores, details, and parts from blueprints.
  • Welding skills applicable in both the foundry and Die Repair Department.
  • Capability to train new employees effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Receive instructions and information from Team Leader and/or Supervisor.
  • Transport, clean, disassemble, repair, and reassemble casting and trim dies as necessary.
  • Build and replace segments, cores, details, and parts using required tools or equipment.
  • Draw polish or grind die cavity surfaces as needed.
  • Make repairs while casting and trim dies are mounted on machines, including removing stuck castings and correcting dimensional problems.
  • Perform welding duties in the foundry and Die Repair Department.
  • Troubleshoot production tooling problems and perform maintenance as needed.
  • Complete necessary forms, die work orders, pictorials, signoffs, and records as directed.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, equipment, and department.
  • Train new employees and assist with their onboarding.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

  • Must have Tool & Die Repair Journeyman Papers.
  • Skilled in performing complex problem-solving tasks.

Education Requirements

  • Associates Degree, trade or technical school, or journey person certificate required.

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Trade or technical school certification or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

  • Up to 2 years of training required, or completion of 2 years of on-the-job training if the minimum experience is not met.
