The Machine Shop Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the machine shop, focusing on developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing processes. Utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, machining processes, tooling, and machine capabilities, this position will also coordinate production times and staffing requirements to ensure on-time delivery for shop operations. In addition, the Supervisor will mentor, coach, and train team members on best practices and overall operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the machine shop team to work efficiently and meet production deadlines
  • Oversee team production for optimal resource utilization and quality output
  • Set up and operate CNC milling and lathe machines
  • Collaborate closely with the Process Supervisor to manage machine output and programming
  • Communicate with the engineering team to establish best practices for manufacturability of parts
  • Enforce and follow workplace safety standards
  • Assist team members in other areas as needed to meet daily production goals
  • Support problem-solving and continuous improvement in the machine shop
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in CNC machining preferred
  • 3+ years of CNC Programming, ideally in FeatureCam
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work overtime as required
