Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled repairs and maintenance on gasoline and diesel engines, including engine overhauls and brake work
  • Document a preventive maintenance program, maintaining detailed records
  • Repair power equipment and tools such as compressors and mowers
  • Order and manage parts inventory, and assist in developing vehicle specifications
  • Operate vehicles for snow removal and emergency highway operations
  • Maintain a daily log of activities and update the DPW Computer Maintenance and Management System

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with additional technical or vocational training in mechanics
  • At least five years of experience in gas and diesel repair work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CDL B license with airbrake endorsement (preferred)
  • Hoisting license (preferred)
  • US Citizen or Green Card holder
