Assistant Controller

Skills

• Strong understanding of job costing, general ledger management, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Proficient in Excel with a capability to demonstrate during the interview process
• Excellent communication skills to interact with various levels of personnel
• Ability to prepare and present financial data to executives
• Spanish language skills are a plus
• CPA License and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Computer Guidance Corp eCMS) are preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Facilitate seamless communication between field teams and accounting
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights
• Oversee key accounting functions, including general ledger management and financial reporting
• Prepare and present financial data at monthly division reviews
• Collaborate with leadership to design and implement financial policies and procedures
• Supervise the job costing team and contribute to a collaborative team environment

• Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance/accounting within commercial construction
• Experience with multi-company structures, including acquired and startup businesses
• Experience with job costing in the field at a granular level
