Objectives of this role:

KKBOX, a leading music streaming platform in Asia. We are seeking an experienced Mobile App Tech Manager to lead our iOS and Android engineering teams. This role combines hands-on mobile technical expertise with strong people and delivery leadership, ensuring high-quality client applications are delivered on time and at scale.
You will partner closely with senior engineers to define technical direction, own execution outcomes, and maintain a healthy, high-performing engineering culture.

Responsibilities:

    • Take full ownership of Mobile (iOS/Android) delivery outcomes: roadmap commitments, milestones, release quality, and post-release stability
    • Identify potential risks in scope, timelines, or technical execution and take action to mitigate them
    • Partner with senior engineers to evaluate technical designs, trade-offs, and long-term architecture decisions
    • Establish and continuously improve engineering processes to balance speed, quality, and sustainability
    • Manage, mentor, and support engineers across different seniority levels
    • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to translate product requirements into executable technical plans

    Requirements:

    • 6+ years of hands-on experience in mobile development (iOS or Android)
    • 3+ years proven experience leading mobile engineering teams or projects
    • Strong ownership mindset with a focus on delivery, quality, and accountability
    • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
    • Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, performance, and maintainability
    • Ability to engage in deep technical discussions and make informed engineering decisions

    Nice to Have:

    • Experience working with senior or staff engineers
    • Experience across both iOS and Android platforms
    • Experience with, or an open and proactive mindset toward adopting AI in engineering workflows
    • Identify capability gaps in a tenured team; upgrade skills through coaching, pairing, and clear expectations—and decisively handle persistent underperformance
    • Proven turnaround experience: driving change in a mature/tenured team, raising the bar, and establishing a performance culture
