About Your Company
We are an opportunistic private markets firm specializing in secondary liquidity solutions—primarily LP (Limited Partner) stake purchases across venture capital, growth equity, and buyout funds. We don’t follow rigid playbooks or stick strictly to conventional asset classes. We look for asymmetric upside wherever mispricings and liquidity friction occur.
We are looking for an Investment Analyst who is exceptionally smart, endlessly curious, and naturally versatile. We want someone who understands formal private equity secondary math (NAV discounts, cash flow modeling, waterfall distributions), but whose commercial instincts trigger when looking at anything mispriced—from state tax credits and litigation finance to high-grade collectibles and niche digital assets.
About your role
As an Analyst on our Secondaries team, you will touch every phase of the deal lifecycle: sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and execution. You will evaluate complex portfolios of private fund stakes, model underlying cash flows, dig through deal rooms, and pitch investment theses directly to the Investment Committee.
Portfolio Underwriting & Valuation: Model LP portfolio stakes across VC, growth, and buyout funds. Run cash flow forecasts, NAV discount analyses, and scenario modeling.
Secondary Market Tracking: Monitor secondary pricing trends, broker inventories, and transaction volumes across the LP secondary landscape.
Unconventional Opportunity Spotting: Go beyond standard fund databases. Identify non-obvious secondary liquidity opportunities, structural arbitrage, or niche alternative assets.
Due Diligence & Execution: Conduct deep-dive diligence on underlying portfolio companies, examine LP Agreements (LPA) and side letters, evaluate GP track records, and assist in closing processes.
Investment Memoranda: Draft concise, high-conviction memos outlining risk/reward profiles, return metrics (IRR/MOIC), and downside protection strategies.
Who you are
Intellectually Omnivorous: You see investment opportunities everywhere. Whether it’s analyzing state tax credit markets, physical collectibles, domain names, or tail-end venture funds, you naturally understand supply, demand, and valuation dynamics.
Quantitatively Rigorous: You build clean, dynamic financial models without relying on pre-built templates. Discounted cash flows, IRR/MOIC sensitivity tables, and waterfall structures are second nature to you.
Resourceful & Scrappy: When information isn't readily available in a data room, you know how to find it—whether through expert networks, primary research, or creative web scraping.
Versatile Executioner: You can jump from evaluating a $50M buyout LP portfolio to analyzing a niche alternative asset class without missing a beat.
What you need to succeed
1–3 years of experience in private equity secondaries, investment banking, M&A, venture capital, or a specialized investment firm.
Outstanding financial modeling skills (Excel/Python/financial engineering).
High commercial acumen and a demonstrated history of self-directed research into non-traditional markets or personal investments.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills—able to synthesize complex data into a clear investment thesis.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent track record of exceptional quantitative work).
Why Join Us?
Direct Impact: Flat hierarchy where smart ideas win, regardless of title. Your deal memos go directly to key decision-makers.
Broad Mandate: Opportunity to look at non-standard transactions and niche asset classes alongside core LP secondary deals.
Competitive Compensation: Base salary + performance-based bonus linked directly to deal performance.
