(Senior) Research & Analytics Manager | Quantitative, Market Intelligence

The Group is a conglomerate and leading player in the property, fashion retail, and financial investment sectors, with a focus on leveraging big data for insightful analysis and strategic growth. Operating primarily in Hong Kong and China, the company is committed to utilizing policy research and market intelligence to drive innovation and business expansion across its diverse portfolio.

The Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced (Senior) Research & Analytics Manager to join the Research and Planning Department, driving impactful market intelligence through quantitative research.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage comprehensive market research projects across Hong Kong and Mainland China, focusing on customer behaviors, market trends, sentiment, and business development opportunities.
  • Define research scope, prepare proposals, and design questionnaires and interview formats (e.g., in-depth and follow-up interviews) to meet project objectives.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including business travel, to gather primary data and ensure high-quality research outcomes.
  • Analyze data from primary research, macro statistics, social media, and other sources to derive actionable insights.
  • Write compelling research proposals and analytical reports, presenting findings from a business perspective to stakeholders.
  • Ensure dataset accuracy, integrity, and efficient processing through robust data coding and output validation.
  • Develop and implement advanced data analysis methodologies and automation tools to enhance research efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors/agencies to clarify and execute project requirements.
  • Perform desk research, ad-hoc tasks, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in statistics, mathematics, quantitative analysis, economics, data science, marketing, business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in market research, including proposal writing, questionnaire design, quantitative analysis, and data analytics in Hong Kong and/or Mainland China.
  • Proven proficiency in SPSS, MS Excel, and PowerPoint, with hands-on experience in data processing and reporting.
  • Knowledge of VBA and/or SQL is required; familiarity with statistical tools or business intelligence software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., R, Python) is a strong advantage.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, business acumen, and report-writing abilities, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication skills, with proven proficiency in English and fluency in Putonghua.
  • Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and handle overtime, including weekends and public holidays (compensatory leave provided).
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork and research purposes.
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered for the Assistant Research Manager role.
