Finance Manager / Financial Controller | hospitality, leisure, private member club

With a rich history spanning over 100 years, the company is a distinguished private members' club known for its exceptional sports, leisure venues, F&B, and entertainment services. The Club is currently in search of a skilled Finance Manager/Financial Controller to lead a team of 5 professionals. Reporting directly to the Club General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company. This includes managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, as well as ensuring internal controls and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Working closely with other senior leaders, your role will be pivotal in driving the club's financial success and ensuring its long-term sustainability. IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY will be highly advantageous.



Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.

  • Manage and monitor expenses related to the ongoing redevelopment project, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial objectives.

  • Establish and uphold financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and evaluate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.

  • Take charge of the annual budgeting process, encompassing revenue and expense projections, risk assessment, and the development of KPIs to measure financial performance.

  • Optimize cash flow and maximize returns on surplus funds through the management of time deposits.

  • Track and report financial performance against budget and forecasts, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing corrective measures when necessary.

  • Identify and implement process enhancements to streamline financial operations and boost efficiency.

  • Collaborate closely with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits and tax filings.

  • Provide financial guidance and support to various departments within the organization.

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering their growth and success through guidance and support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a MUST.

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a track record of successful financial management and control.

  • Highly desirable experience in the clubhouse, hotel, or hospitality industry.

  • Thorough understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations, with the capability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling confident financial decision-making based on data and evidence.

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities, fostering effective collaboration with stakeholders across all levels of the Club.

  • Fluency in Cantonese (Chinese) and English is required.

  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with FlexSystem is a plus.
