China Affairs / Mainland Affairs (Sr.) Officer | native Mandarin

A leading publicly listed corporation, this organization stands as one of the largest conglomerates in Hong Kong and China, with diverse operations spanning property development, retail, hospitality, and more. They are seeking an experienced professional to join their Public Affairs department.



Responsibilities

  • Monitor and Analyze Policies: Stay abreast of the evolving policy landscape in mainland China and Hong Kong, providing timely and insightful assessments on key issues.
  • Research and Reporting: Conduct thorough macroeconomic and sector-specific research, delivering detailed reports to inform decision-making.
  • Network Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, business associations, and think tanks to facilitate effective policy advocacy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Address inquiries and provide expertise to external stakeholders regarding relevant policy matters.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business partners and internal teams on various company initiatives, programs, and events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Economics, Political Economy, or related fields.
  • 1-5 years of demonstrated experience in report writing related to public sector policy issues and real estate.
  • Proven track record in managing public policy, government relations, and advocacy efforts.
  • In-depth understanding of the political systems and policymaking processes in mainland China and Hong Kong, including government, NGOs, and the policy community.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a talented team, showcasing excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in engaging with policymakers.
  • Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Chinese, including Putonghua and Cantonese.
