The Head of Corporate Communications will lead the development and execution of integrated communication strategies to enhance the organization's reputation and stakeholder engagement. This senior leadership role will drive innovative, high-impact communication and public relations programs, oversee media relations, and provide strategic counsel on reputation and issue management. The role will also involve nurturing key stakeholder relationships and positioning Hong Kong as a leading international innovation and technology hub.
Responsibilities
Strategic Communication & Program Leadership
Develop and implement comprehensive corporate communication strategies to build trust and credibility among stakeholders, reinforcing the organization's leadership in the I&T ecosystem.
Drive awareness of Hong Kongs I&T positioning, the organization's initiatives, and partner successes through targeted, cost-effective communication plans in local and international markets.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with business units to craft tailored messaging, identify key audiences, and execute impactful engagement strategies across diverse platforms.
Media Relations & Public Affairs
Build and maintain strategic relationships with local and international media to secure positive coverage and enhance the organization's reputation.
Proactively manage potential issues or crises by assessing risks, formulating clear messaging, and deploying effective communication tactics across media channels.
Act as a key spokesperson and communications advisor, ensuring consistent and compelling representation of the organization's mission and values.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage and inspire a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Mentor team members, providing guidance and opportunities for professional growth to ensure the successful delivery of communication objectives.
Oversee resource allocation and budget planning for communication initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Additional Duties
Undertake other responsibilities as assigned to support the organizations evolving priorities and objectives.
Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or marketing, with at least 8 years in a leadership role managing sizable teams, preferably in multinational corporations or I&T-related organizations.
Media Network: Established relationships with international and local media, as well as key opinion leaders, to drive impactful coverage.
Crisis Management: Proven expertise in issue and crisis management, with a track record of effectively navigating complex stakeholder dynamics.
Leadership Skills: Confident, strategic, and collaborative leader with the ability to drive performance, inspire change, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Innovation Mindset: Creative and proactive, with experience leveraging new media technologies to enhance communication strategies.
Team Development: Demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing communication teams.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in the I&T sector is an advantage.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) is essential.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and communication platforms, with experience managing digital tools or reporting systems.
