About Your Company
Our client, a well-established Multi-Family Office and investment management firm serving UHNW across Asia Pacific, is seeking a wealth planner to join the team. You will work with FAs / Relationship Managers in advising clients on their wealth and family legacy planning. Working alongside a sophisticated infrastructure across trust, investment (Discretionary Portfolio Management), insurance, and real estate trenches you will leverage on platform’s band width to give comprehensive wealth planning advisory to the clients.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Trust & Estate Advisory
Structural Architecture: Evaluate, design, and implement sophisticated wealth transfer and preservation strategies (e.g., GRATs, IDGTs, ILITs, SLATs, FLPs).
Family Governance & LegacyFacilitate family meetings, articulate multi-generational wealth values, and design philanthropic structures (e.g., private foundations, donor-advised funds).
Fiduciary Oversight: Coordinate with external legal counsel, corporate trustees, and tax professionals to ensure flawless execution and administration of estate plans.
2. Insurance & Risk Management
Asset Protection: Analyze existing insurance portfolios and identify gaps in coverage regarding life, disability, umbrella, and specialty asset insurance.
Advanced Structuring: Structure complex insurance solutions—including Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI) and premium financing—as vehicles for tax-efficient wealth accumulation and transfer.
3. Investment & Tax Integration
Cross-Disciplinary Alignment: Partner closely with our internal Investment Team/CIO to ensure asset location and portfolio construction are optimized for the client’s specific trust structures and tax profiles.
Cash Flow & Liquidity Modeling: Develop sophisticated multi-generational cash flow projections, factoring in estate tax liabilities, capital calls, and lifestyle spending.
4. Client Relationship & Business Development
High-Touch Advisory: Serve as the primary point of contact for complex planning matters, translating highly technical legal and financial jargon into clear, actionable insights for clients.
Ecosystem Collaboration: Act as the "quarterback" collaborating with clients’ existing external advisors (CPAs, attorneys) to ensure a unified strategy.
Job Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 7–10+ years of experience in wealth planning, estate law, or tax advisory, specifically serving HNW/UHNW families within a family office, private bank, or elite law/CPA firm.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (JD, LL.M. in Taxation, or Master’s in Tax) is highly preferred.
Professional designations such as CFP®, CPA, or TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) are strong pluses.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of federal/state estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax laws. Proven understanding of advanced life insurance mechanics.
Soft Skills: Absolute discretion and emotional intelligence (EQ). The ability to navigate complex, sometimes sensitive, family dynamics with diplomacy and poise.
