Software Engineer 1
Job Description: The Junior Software Engineer is an entry-level position for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within a software development team. Working under the guidance of more experienced engineers, the Junior Software Engineer will be responsible for contributing to small tasks and features, fixing bugs, and improving existing systems. This role emphasizes learning, with a focus on gaining familiarity with tools, frameworks, and coding best practices while participating in code reviews as a learner. The Junior Software Engineer will actively collaborate with team members and seek mentorship to develop their skills and understanding of complex systems.
Responsibilities:
- Write code for smaller tasks or features, often under supervision.
- Fix bugs and make minor improvements in existing systems.
- Follow established coding guidelines and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to gain feedback and learn from peers.
- Gain familiarity with team tools, frameworks, and processes.
- Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliverables.
- Actively seek mentorship and be open to receiving feedback to improve technical skills.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or currently pursuing a degree or relevant coursework).
- Basic understanding of at least one programming language
- Familiarity with version control systems
- Willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, and coding practices.
- Knowledge of software development fundamentals, such as algorithms and data structures.
Skills:
- Proficiency in C# and ASP.NET Web APIs
- Experience with Flutter (or equivalent mobile framework)
- Data and Data Access Layer experience with:
- SQL Server and T-SQL
- Entity Framework (or equivalent)
- Front-End experience with Angular (or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of GIT and source control repositories
