Proxy Product Owner / Project Manager

Mission Overview:

The Proxy Product Owner at the Data Office is crucial in blending the vision of data products with hands-on project management as a consultant at our client site through Keystone Solutions. This role involves developing data-driven solutions in collaboration with product experts and data teams within different business units. Key responsibilities encompass defining product strategy, managing the product backlog, prioritizing tasks in alignment with customer needs and strategic objectives, and focusing on executing a clear product roadmap using Scrum methodologies.

The position demands project leadership, overseeing delivery while maintaining quality and timelines, and coordinating with cross-functional teams. Strong change management skills, effective communication, risk management, and stakeholder coordination are essential in this role.

This position engages actively in the transition from a SAS legacy platform to a modern Azure Databricks setup. The legacy platform supports data ingestion, quality checks, and data analyses for business users. The Proxy Product Owner will collaborate with Data Functional Analysts, Data Architects, and data engineers to facilitate the migration of legacy ingestion processes while supporting over 100 users in adapting to this change. A solid understanding of Data Privacy and GDPR compliance is critical.

The Proxy Product Owner ensures that product development aligns with organizational goals, delivering high-quality data solutions as part of Keystone Solutions' consultancy model.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Proxy Product Owner, making vital decisions regarding analytical solutions and priorities, closely collaborating with business units and direct reports.
• Manage the product backlog and establish sprint goals for a feasible delivery plan.
• Work with the Scrum team to ensure solution development aligns with the product roadmap.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely delivery of product features while maintaining high quality.
• Clearly define and communicate project goals and scope to all stakeholders.
• Oversee data-driven projects, focusing on timely and quality delivery throughout project phases.
• Collab ocean with direct reports for resource planning and project milestone management.
• Provide regular project updates, managing issues and risks transparently.

Key Skills:

• Master's or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in product management, especially within data and analytics.
• Solid experience in Agile/Scrum practices and project management; proven ability to lead complex projects.
• Extensive experience in establishing change management plans.
• Adept at translating business needs into technical requirements and product features.
• Capable of driving solution delivery from inception to completion and effective collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of presenting to senior management.
• Familiarity with modern data & analytics technologies, particularly cloud platforms like MS Azure, is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of the MS SQL Server BI stack and MS Power BI.
• Knowledge of the SAS platform and SAS Enterprise Guide is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with senior management.
• High execution and mobilization capabilities.
