Senior DEV Engineer Consultant

Responsibilities:

• Work as a member of an agile team, applying skills in analysis, design, development, testing, and integration to deliver valuable products at the end of each sprint.
• Ensure continuity and contribute to knowledge management within the squad focused on Interest Assets, especially Term Deposit systems.
• Commit to team delivery, collaborating beyond your specific knowledge domain to complete the sprint backlog as prioritized by the Product Owner.
• Adhere to scrum values: focused, committed, open, respectful, and courageous, fostering knowledge sharing, open communication, continuous learning, and a commitment to delivering added value.

Technical Analysis & Development:

• Perform end-to-end technical analyses for Mainframe-based applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Mainframe applications (Cobol, DB2, IMS, GTMS, JCL, EdZ) with a focus on Term Deposit systems.
• Design and implement technical solutions for RUN & Change activities, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Mainframe-related incidents, collaborating with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Infrastructure, Business).
• Contribute to middleware integration (MQ, zOS Connect, SOAP) to ensure seamless communication between Mainframe and modern systems.

Knowledge Transfer & Collaboration:

• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts for Term Deposit applications and ensure knowledge retention as key experts transition out.
• Document technical processes and best practices to support long-term knowledge management.
• Work closely on RUN & Change activities, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal operational risk.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (refinement, planning, retrospectives) to align technical delivery with business priorities.
• Foster a collaborative culture within the squad, promoting continuous improvement in Mainframe development practices.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT development and integration.
• Technical experience (mandatory): knowledge of common development languages used in the domain, excellent understanding of architecture (hardware, OS, networking, databases, middleware), and knowledge of methods, standards, security procedures, and development tools.
• Technical experience (preferable): experience with integration using different technologies (distributed/mainframe) and infrastructure components.
• Business experience (mandatory): knowledge of agile methodology.
• Soft skills: excellent analysis skills, team spirit, efficient communication skills, ambition towards squad targets, agile values (focused, committed, open, respectful, courageous), and a drive for continuous improvement in delivery speed and operational quality.
• Language requirements: active knowledge of at least one local language (Dutch, French, or English) and passive knowledge of the other language(s).
• Expectation: 50% on-site and 50% homeworking.
