Senior Operational Security Engineer Consultant

Mission Overview:

This is a consultancy mission at a client site, representing Keystone Solutions. As a consultant, you will be hired by Keystone Solutions to work on client projects, bringing your expertise to dynamic environments and diverse challenges.

Role Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Operational Security Engineer to join the Key, Certificate, and Key Management squad within the Production Security BE tribe. The team specializes in lifecycle management of cryptographic keys, certificates, and application secrets. The mission is to secure electronic transactions, authentications, and cloud-hosted applications while ensuring compliance with EU/Group regulations and industry standards. You will operate and support Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and deliver reliable security solutions for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the lifecycle of cryptographic keys, digital certificates, and application secrets (rotation, revocation, access control).
• Monitor and maintain HSM infrastructures to ensure high availability and compliance.
• Troubleshoot incidents and resolve security gaps in authentication, encryption, or secret storage.
• Act as a Crypto Design Authority, advising on cryptographic standards, algorithms, and best practices.
• Lead or contribute to strategic projects, including Post-Quantum Cryptography, EKU Readiness, HSM Lifecycle Management, Key Ceremonies, Crypto Agility, Platform Integration, and partnering with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Language Requirements:

• Dutch: A plus
• French: Fluent spoken
• English: Fluent spoken and written

Telework:

• Expectation: 50% on site & 50% homeworking

Required Experience / Knowledge:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• Deep IT security expertise
• Technical mastery of HSMs, PKI, Hashicorp Vault, cryptographic standards (NIST), and operational oversight of high-availability infrastructures
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Scripting (Python, Bash, etc.), ServiceNow, Rally, Portunus, Adyton, nCipher, HashiCorpVault (preferable)
