Staff Accountant
Job Description:
Job Summary:
Our client, a leading designer/manufacturer of digital camera imaging systems, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with knowledge and experience in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for ensuring accurate state and federal filings, reconciling cash accounts, and preparing QB file for CPA firm to assist with corporate tax filings. The role requires an individual who can work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll:
- Process payroll twice a month.
- Make payroll tax deposits as required.
- File quarterly payroll tax returns and annual payroll tax filings (e.g., 940, W2, 1099) with state and federal agencies.
- Accounts Payable:
- Enter purchase orders received from the home office.
- Pay bills twice a month.
- Accounts Receivable:
- Review and enter purchase orders received from customers.
- Create invoices upon order shipment and forward them to the home office for customer delivery.
- Call on past due accounts monthly or as needed.
- Production and Inventory Management:
- Review the production schedule twice a month for accuracy.
- Review inventory bi-monthly to ensure adequate stock levels for sales projections
- Ensure inventory is updated upon order shipments.
- State and Federal Filings:
- File annual reports and required state agent forms with states.
- File sales tax returns as required.
- Prepare QuickBooks files for the CPA firm for annual corporate and state income tax filings.
- Cash Account Management:
- Monitor cash accounts and make necessary transfers based on cash flow analysis
- Reconcile bank statements monthly.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in internal accounting.
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of payroll tax requirements.
- Experience with state and federal filings.
